Conservation Values: Priority habitats per SCDNR: mesic forest, depressions, grassland, blackwater streams, pine woodlands. Also rare swamp forest, mixed forest, wet hardwood, and cypress-tupelo communities. Rare species present/potential: Sarvis holly, thoroughwart, sedge, needlegrass, and species like orchids, woodpecker, salamander and fish. Within Great Swamp watershed, joining the New River which flows into the Savannah and Atlantic basin. Nearly adjoins 2,000 acres of other conservation lands.
