Conservation Values: Protects Russell Creek, draining into J. Strom Thurmond Lake - one of the largest eastern US lakes. Habitats include pine plantations, hardwood ravines, creeks, drainages, open fields. SC DNR identified rare plants with potential on site: faded trillium, whorled horsebalm, shooting star; bald eagle. Within Savannah River flyway corridor. Contiguous with Army Corps wetlands/lakeshore buffer lands.
