Conservation Values: Protects water quality for Vauclose pond, creek drainage and wetlands, sustaining crayfish & amphibians. It protects land associated with rare species like eastern fox squirrels & red cockaded woodpeckers. The SCNHT labeled local species like bog spicebush as rare. It noted this CA area ranks highest for large-area protection in the Fall-line Sandhills Longleaf Pine region. The CA adjoins 4,658 acres already conserved within the Fall-line Sandhills Long Leaf Pine Region.
