Two tributaries of river are statewide or greater significance. In Cordell Hull Lake Watershed a U.S. Watershed Hot Spot in the Rivers of Life. Proximity to Standing Stone State Park, Roaring River Park, Boils WMA, and Roaring River Recreational Area. Medium priority aquatic and terrestrial habitat in TN SWAP.
