Conservation Values: Protects several tributary creeks (Old Settler's Branch, Whisper Creek Branch, Longview Springs Branch). Little Sandy Mush Creek flow into Sandy Mush Creek which is classified as Class C Waters by the NC Division of Water Quality which requires protection for recreation, fishing, wilflife, biological integrity and agriculture. Provides hardwood forests and riparian areas which are significant for many plant and animal species.Between Sandy Mush Valley and the Pisgah National Forest
