Conservation Values: contains priority coastal plain, tidal freshwater, and hammock island habitats per SC DNR. Includes 10 small hammock islands. Provides habitat for alligators, fish, mollusks, crabs, birds like titmouse, blackbird, hawk, kestrel, possibly bald eagle. Within Atlantic Flyway. Protects water quality for Toogoodoo Creek and the Wadmalaw River watershed flowing to the Atlantic Ocean. Connects with a 420 acre county park that is part of the 1,000 acre Charleston County Greenbelt system.
