Conservation Values: Protects and provides a natural habitat for native and rare plant and animal species; contains rugged mountain terrain and uncommon geology create habtiats for a diverse array of species; contains numerous rare plant species: bloodrot, black cohosh, black maple, and spotted mandarin; adjoins extisting conservation easements for a total of 1200 contiguous acres of scenic land; protects water quality for the French broad River watershed which drains a large portion of W NC into the TN River.
